The island feels freer, more natural – almost as if it is taking a deep breath. And for photos that is a genuine jackpot. No crowds, no towels in the background, no distractions. Just Mallorca, you and this moment that feels completely like a holiday, even if it is already December.
What many people underestimate: the light is softer in winter, almost velvety. Even at midday, evocative colours emerge and the skin looks warmer. The sea stays blue, the sky clear – just without the harsh sun that often drowns everything out in summer. For me as a photographer that is a dream, because I can capture you more naturally. It looks less like "staged" and more like "we were really there".
For families it is ideal because the children do not overheat or get distracted by crowds. For couples it is the perfect setting to capture closeness undisturbed. And for anyone who has always wanted photos that look like freedom: winter is the time for that.
Many people think Mallorca is cold in winter. But on most days you are on the beach at 16–20 degrees in a light that cannot be found anywhere in central Europe. For me this is the season of real, quiet images – and that is exactly what my clients love every year.
So if you fancy a shoot that feels easy, is relaxed and gives you memories that come about without any rush, then winter on Mallorca is your best choice.
